1. Classify Heat Recovery Units by energy and material transport

2. Classify Heat Recovery Units by system build-up (Kassai M.)

3. Describe the advantages and disadvantages of fixed-plate exchangers. (Kassai M.)

4. Describe the advantages and disadvantages of rotary air-to-air energy exchangers. (Kassai

M.)

5. Describe the advantages of coil loops. (Kassai M.)

6. Describe the disadvantages of coil loops. (Kassai M.)

7. Describe the advantages and disadvantages heat pipe heat exchangers. (Kassai M.)

8. Describe minimum two physical principals of filters. (Kassai M.)

9. Define the equivalent diameter of air duct (generally, rectangular + square duct) (Szabo

J.)

10. Describe the total pressure drop of air duct (formal + friction pressure loss) (Szabo J.)

11. Describe the main types of the air distribution systems (ADS). What are the principles of

the displacement ADS? (Both B.)

In case of applying displacement ADS the supply air temperature is always less, than indoor air temperature. The recommended temperature difference between supply air and indoor air is at least 2 [K], but maximum it is 12 [K]. Supplied cold air is creeping on the floor and then meets with a heat source, which can be a person, computer, machine, etc. As a result, supply air temperature is increasing and then the lift force becomes dominant, so the air starts rising

towards the ceiling, where the air is exhausted. A typical configuration of this ADS is lower air supply and upper air exhaust.

12. Describe the main types of the air distribution systems (ADS). What are the principles of

the tangential ADS? (Both B.)

In case of applying tangential ADS, supplied air jet always touches some kinds of surfaces, which can be a window, wall, ceiling, floor or other air jet’s surface. Consequently the Coanda-effect appears; the air jet is creeping along this surface by increasing ventilation effi-ciency in the ventilated space. The maximum height of the ventilated space where it is applied 3,5…4 [m], e.g. classrooms, offices, hospitals, and so on. In most cases; diffusers are usually located at
