RESUMO
A Hanseníase é uma doença infectocontagiosa de evolução crônica causada pela bactéria Mycobacterium Leprae ou Bacilo de Hansen, quando não diagnosticada e tratada precocemente apresenta acometimentos dos nervos periféricos de todo o corpo, causando perda da sensibilidade e paralisia muscular. Sendo assim, há comprometimentos da funcionalidade, qualidade de vida e, principalmente a participação social desses indivíduos, os quais necessitam de apoio para os enfrentamentos encontrados. A partir desta temática, objetivou-se investigar na literatura a restrição da participação social de pacientes com hanseníase. A metodologia para a elaboração do estudo tem como base a pesquisa bibliográfica utilizando para fundamentação teórica informações encontradas em: livros, artigos de periódicos e trabalhos apresentados. Tendo como segunda etapa do trabalho a elaboração do projeto de pesquisa, no qual os dados serão coletados por meio de avaliação dos pacientes diagnosticados com hanseníase atendidos no Centro de Reabilitação Ana Carolina Moura Xavier (CHR), dando relevância a Escala de Participação Social, sendo capaz de avaliar a restrição da participação social do indivíduo com hanseníase. Como critério de inclusão da pesquisa serão admitidos indivíduos de ambos os sexos, maiores de 18 anos, com diagnóstico clínico de hanseníase. A pesquisa contará com a participação, mediante Termo de Consentimento Livre e Esclarecido (TCLE) aprovado, de pacientes diagnosticados com hanseníase atendidos no CHR, na cidade de Curitiba.

ABSTRACT
Leprosy is an infectious disease of chronic evolution caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium Leprae or Bacillus de Hansen, when undiagnosed and treated early it has peripheral nerve involvement of the whole body, causing loss of sensation and muscle paralysis. Thus, there are impairments of the functionality, quality of life and, especially, the social participation of these individuals, who need support for the confrontations encountered. From this theme, the objective was to investigate in the literature the restriction of the social participation of patients with leprosy. The methodology for the elaboration of the study is based on the bibliographical research using for theoretical foundations information found in: books, articles of periodicals and works presented. The second phase of the study was the elaboration of the research project, in which the data will be collected through the evaluation of the patients diagnosed with leprosy at the Ana Carolina Moura Xavier Rehabilitation Center (CHR), highlighting the Social Participation Scale. able to evaluate the restriction of the social participation of the individual with leprosy. As criteria for inclusion of the research will be admitted individuals of both sexes, over 18 years of age, with clinical diagnosis of leprosy. The research will count on the participation, through an approved and informed consent term (TCLE), of patients diagnosed with leprosy seen at the CHR, in the city of Curitiba.
