Verbs:

To last, lasted: to continue existing or happening for or until a particular time: Ex: The game lasted four hours.

To notify, notified: to inform someone officially about something. Ex: Winners will be notified as soon as possible.

To reach, reached: to arrive somewhere. Ex: We hoped to reach the camp before dark.

To schedule, scheduled: a plan of activities or events and when they will happen. Ex: What's on your schedule today?

Vocabulary

Ability: the fact of being able to do something. Ex: Tiredness can seriously impair your ability to drive.

Author: someone who writes books, articles, etc., especially as their job.

Conference: a large meeting, often lasting a few days, where people who are interested in a particular subject come together to discuss ideas. Ex: the annual conference of the Police Federation

Seminar: a meeting at which a group of people discuss a subject. Ex: a business seminar

Notification: an official announcement about something that has happened or will happen. Ex: Notifications will be sent out next week.

Nation: a country that has its own land and government. Ex: a meeting of the leaders of the main industrial nations

National: owned or controlled by the government. EX: the Rio Grande National Forest

Nationality: the legal status of being a citizen of a particular country. Ex: British/American/ German nationality

Belongings: the things you own. Ex: Adam packed his few belongings and moved out.

Major: important, serious, large, or great. Ex: Major roadwork ahead.

Minor: Not very important in comparison with people or things of the same type. Ex: The damage here was only minor.

Emphasis: special importance or attention that is given to one thing in particular. Ex: The main emphasis should be on quality rather than quantity.

Giving: disposing of property by voluntary transfer without receiving value in return Ex: The alumni followed a program of annual giving.

Grades: one of the levels of school in the U.S. that lasts one year. Students in the same grade are all about the same age. Ex: The topic is covered in the seventh grade.

Behavior: the way that someone behaves. Ex: Anna was sick of her brother's annoying behavior.

Charitable: intended to help people who are poor or sick, or who need advice and support. Ex: a charitable organization/institution/trust

Elderly: an elderly person is old.
