Religion has always been part of the history of the human being, assisting them in the construction of their subjectivity, thus playing an important role in the life of the subjects and influencing the habits of life of a society. Based on this understanding, this paper aims to comprehend the perception of Psychology students acting like religious leaderships, on the contributions of psychology in pastoral activities, and the reasons why religious leaders seek psychological science among the graduation courses identifying in their perceptions if there is a relationship between Psychology and Religion. In order to objectify this research, were interviewed 5 religious leaders who attended Psychology at Santa Maria College and continue their religious practices. The result of the interview was evaluated through the content analysis of Bardin, trying to highlight the importance of the relationship between Psychology and Religion. The data were collected throughout September 2016, guided by a semi-structured interview containing 5 questions. The data were categorized by the Bardin content analysis method, since it was a qualitative study. The results of this research revealed that religious leaders in psychology agree and understand the relationship between science and religion. When questioned about the reasons for the search their for Psychology, they showed themselves to be coherent in their responses, in view of the concern with the effectiveness of their religious practices in relation to the people assisted, the participants believed that Psychology helps for emotional well-being and understanding of the subjects. During the interview, the participants reported feeling at a certain moment that there is a point where only Religion is not able to decipher man, because there are real aspects that are on account of psychological science, hence the need to search Psychology for Their respective performances. As to the understanding of the contribution of Psychology to pastoral practice, the participants of the research suggested that Psychology can help in their pastoral practices in the way of listening to the other, in the work with couples and also in the work in groups. Concerning the similarity between Psychology and Religion, most religious leaders claim that the two are concomitant. And they reported the relations of familiarity between them. It is hoped that this study may incite curiosity about the issue in question.
