Our project is for Lindt Chocolate Company, a world top supplier of premium chocolates, produces a variety of high-quality chocolate bars and pralines in Aachen. In 2011 the company launched a series of investments and projects at its manufacturing sites, including the current refurbishment and extension at the German site.

Lindt has six factories in the following locations: Kilchberg, Switzerland; Aachen, Germany; Oloron-Sainte-Marie, France; Induno Olona, Italy; Gloggnitz, Austria; and Stratham, New Hampshire in the United States.

In order to attend the increasing of the production and of the logistic as well, the existing software will be upgrade. Also, the Quality Department  identified through the survey the customers’ desire to buy the Lindt’s products online, mostly on the celebrations dates, like Valentine's day, Easter, Christmas, Mothers Day for example, once is hard to find this kind of products in Lindt stores, considering that due the significant demand the product finish early.

Nowadays the customers are so busy and most of the time they are invite do birthday parties, celebrations, they don’t have a chance to go to stores to choose the gift and considering that everyone use smartphones, the customers suggested to a virtual store to buy the products creating a larger scale delivery where they can receive in their Offices, home or delivering as a gift for someone else.

 The project started in July 2017 and commissioning is planned for December of this year.

Remember that selling is not the primary goal, although it is the most important means for success is making the customer satisfied. According to the products to be sold, it is possible to trace the reason why the company decided to open a virtual store.


An example would be a store that is already a reference in sporting goods in a city, but wants to increase its audience by providing a larger scale delivery.

Thus, through the internet shop, it will be possible to expand sales throughout Brazil using the services of the Post Office for delivery of goods. It is not necessary to list only one objective that motivates the creation of e-commerce.

There may be a series of proposals that make the business to be boosted, but it is interesting to highlight one of them, so that this is the focus of the actions that will be described later in the virtual shop design plan.

THE PRODUCTS AND LOGISTICS OF THE VIRTUAL SHOP

The next step is to define what will be sold and how it will be marketed among customers. It sounds simple, but it's not just about creating a list of everything that will be announced on the site, with their details. This is just a method of organization that will make the company better visualize the products as a whole. According to the specifications of what will be offered to the customers how the products will reach the warehouse, how will this be registered in the system and what will be the shipping method so that all Process is completed.
