RESUMO

Os resíduos sólidos representam um problema mundial decorrente da industrialização e densidade

populacional do ser humano. Na tentativa de enfrentar esse problema, a prefeitura do Rio de Janeiro – RJ –

criou o programa dos ecopontos que são postos de entrega voluntária de materiais recicláveis. Podem ser

encontrados em diversos bairros e também nas unidades escolares municipais. Os objetivos deste trabalho

são: verificar a eficácia dos ecopontos nas escolas vinculadas a 9

de Janeiro; investigar o conhecimento dos alunos em relação aos ecopontose a coleta seletiva; determinar o

grau de conhecimento dos estudantesem relação às cores e aos materiais, respectivamente, que podem ser

colocados nos ecopontos e averiguar se os alunos fazem a separação do lixo para a coleta seletiva. Para

realizar essa pesquisa, foram visitadas cinco escolas situadas em bairros da Zona Oeste, participaram deste

trabalho trezentas e vinte pessoas, de ambos os sexos, estudantes da rede municipal de educação matriculados

da terceira à quinta série do ensino fundamental que responderam ao questionário da pesquisa e também

diretores ou coordenadores pedagógicos que foram entrevistados em cada uma das unidades escolares. Os

ecopontos não são eficazes por si só, mas poderiam tornar-se caso houvesse a participação efetiva de toda a

comunidade escolar. A escola é uma instituição que forma as futuras gerações, e tem um papel fundamental

podendo despertar nas pessoas a consciência ambiental, fazendo com que elas pensem globalmente agindo

localmente.

ABSTRACT

The solid residues represent a decurrently world-wide problem of the industrialization and

population density of the human being. In the attempt to face this problem the city hall of Rio de Janeiro – RJ

created the program of the ecopontos that are ranks of voluntary delivery of materials recycle. They also can

be found in diverse quarters and in the municipal pertaining to school units. The objectives of this work are:

Rio de Janeiro; to investigate the knowledge of the pupils in relation to the ecopontos and the selective

collection; respectively to determine the degree of knowledge of the students in relation to the colors and the

materials, that they can be placed in the ecopontos and to inquire if the pupils they make the separation of the

garbage for the selective collection. To carry through this research five situated schools in quarters of the

zone had been visited west, had participated of this work three hundred and twenty people, of both the sexes,

students of the municipal net of education registered of the third a fifth series of education basic who, had

answered to the also managing questionnaire of the research and or coordinating pedagogical that had been

interviewed in each one of the pertaining to school units. The ecopontos are not efficient by it self, but they

could become - in case that it had the participation accomplishes of all the pertaining to school community.

The school is an institution that forms the future generations, and has a basic paper being able to awake in the

people to the ambient conscience, making with that they think globally acting local.
