The research investigates the importance of playing for the teaching and learning with focus back to elementary school. The theme of the research is the playful as Facilitator of Teaching and Learning Process in Elementary Education. The aim is to clarify, so that playful can and must be present in all educational activities contributing to the education of professionals in the exploration of this efficient tool that is playfulness. The methodology used is the library research, published articles and active participation in the worldwide movement of Scouting. It is clear that the transition from kindergarten to primary education creates discomfort for children who are forced to leave the world of games directed to face a stage where even curtail the freedom of their movements. With playful using the imaginary world Baden Powell created a movement where children and youth go through all the stages of childhood, adolescence, adulthood and even maturity using games in all its forms, with music and performances. It also notes the importance of play for the formation of the individual and, especially, the success that the playful features when used as a teaching and learning tool. It must be clear, so that the ludic can and must be present in all educational activities, and especially giving this continuity when applying activities for elementary school, obviously with the necessary evolution by age group.
